Opportunity Description: The headquarters for the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail is located in Omaha, NE. It is also the location of the Midwest Regional Office for the National Park Service. Headquarters consist of Visitor Center staff, support staff, and technical assistance staff. The role of the technical assistance staff is to aid trail partners on how to best manage trail resources. These resources range from visitors, facilities, interpretive and education programs and materials, ecosystems, scenic landscapes, environmental threats, recreational trails, present day and past cultural stories, and volunteers. Visitation can vary dramatically from day to day; the National Park Service has seen an increase in visitation with the construction of the new pedestrian bridge. The spring, summer and fall are full of activity and volunteers have the opportunity to teach visitors about the importance the Lewis and Clark Expedition as well as other National Parks. Duties
