Opportunity Description: 
Summer Park Host - Volunteers needed from April 1, 2011 to September 30, 2011. Supplements duties of contract gate attendant, monitor’s park activities, gives out information, and assists campers/ park visitors. Communicate effectively with gate attendant on issues in the park. May involve light cleanup or maintenance. Monitors self-deposit fee system on gate attendant's day off and occasionally open and close park entrance gate to maintain park hours. Park Host will be present to open second lock on honor system fee vault and to observe gate attendant opening and counting Self Deposit Fee Envelopes. Park Host will not handle money. Opportunity Description: 
Campground Host-Volunteers with good communication skills that enjoy meeting people are needed from Apr. 1 to Oct. 31, 2011. The Camp hosts will meet and greet park visitors, provide information, open and close gates, check campers in, assist campers, provide a watchful eye, and perform some light maintenance. Schedule will be min 20 hours per week and include weekends. In exchange for their services, park hosts will be provided a free campsite with water, sewer, and electric (30 amp) hookups. Maintenance Volunteer - Volunteers are needed through out the year. The tasks include but not limited to grubbing, trimming, watering, planting new trees and established trees, litter pickup throughout the campground and small debris pickup on the shoreline. Opportunity Description: 
Chickasaw National Recreation Area is looking for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy meeting and interacting with park visitors to work at the Travertine Nature Center, Visitor Information Station, Junior Ranger Station, Buckhorn Ranger Station, rove and conduct programs in Sulphur, Oklahoma.

Multiple opportunities are available with a variety of schedules.

Duties include staffing the Travertine Nature Center/Visitor Information Station/Buckhorn Ranger Station desks, giving directions, providing information to park visitors, answering general questions, issuing boat ramp permits, selling and issuing federal park passes, and assisting staff with special projects. There are also opportunities to lead interpretive walks/tours.

The Travertine Nature Center is open daily from 9am -5:30pm Memorial Day-Labor Day, and 9am-4:30pm the remainder of the year. The Visitor Information Station is located at the Sulphur Chamber of Commerce and is open 9am-3:30pm, staff permitting. The other sites are staffed on an as-needed basis.

The park will provide training and uniforms to all visitor services/interpretation volunteers.
